Advance Forwarding attend M-ITEC for a 3rd year

Following the huge success of last year's Midland International Trade Expo and Conference, we were delighted to be given the opportunity of exhibiting again. The event, held at the Pedigree suite, Ipro Stadium, Derby on 13th October brought together industry experts and keynote speakers from a number of high-profile Midland based companies with well-established international trade connections. The annual event, organised by the Chamber and heavily supported by UKTI is targeted at Midland based companies looking to take the next steps for growth by developing and expanding business opportunities overseas.

The presentations got underway with an insightful speech from Chamber President Liz Fothergill, Chairman of Pennine Healthcare about 'taking the plunge' and joined by a panel of guests including our very own Chairman, Steve Hodson for a Q&A session. Ian Maclean, Managing Director of John Smedley, a Derbyshire-based fine knitwear manufacturer which holds the Royal Charter impressed with a dramatic film introduction demonstrating a modern-take and musical production of the factory. Next, James Averdieck, Founder of Gü shared his inspiring story on where the idea started and growth strategy that now sees them exporting all over the world.

The event was complimented by 30 exhibitors, each passing on their knowledge and expertise to the aspiring exporters. Words of advice came from a whole host of service providers such as marketing and design agency, Koobr, Intercity Technology (communication & connectivity Specialists) and foreign exchange specialist, Money Corp, advertising extremely competitive rates and free foreign currency accounts. Needless to say, the event was a resounding success and a great launch as we move closer to international export week....
