Advance Supports Investment and Exports to Rwanda

Advance Sales Director, Katie Skipper was delighted to attend the 'Invest in Rwanda' dinner organised to the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce at Colwick Hall, Nottingham on Tuesday 26th May.

The prestigious event was hosted by His Excellency William Nkurunziz, Rwanda High Commissioner to UK and George Cowcher, Director and Chief Executive of the Chamber to promote attractive investment and export opportunities in Rwanda.

The evening consisted of presentations outlining the future plans for growth and development over the next 20 years and key sectors for investment, followed by a colorful presentation of Rwanda's tourism.

With a population of 10 million and GDP Growth of 7.5%, Rwanda not only offers exporters a wealth of opportunities but a beautiful holiday destination with luscious mountainous landscape, nicknamed "Land of a Thousand Hills." home to the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys.

Rwanda's economy suffered heavily during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide, but has since strengthened significantly and now offers investors a safe environment for lucrative business. The economy is based mostly on subsistence agriculture with coffee and tea being the major crop export and tourism is a fast-growing sector.

Advance has been active for many years in the exportation of a number of different products to Rwanda and indeed you may have seen the company highlighted on the BBC regional news that same evening, showing our packing facilities here at Melbourne.
